Ouzoud Waterfalls
The Ouzoud Waterfalls, located about 150 km northeast of Marrakech in the Atlas Mountains, are undeniably the most beautiful waterfalls in Morocco and among the most impressive in all of Africa.
About this excursion
The Ouzoud Waterfalls are the most spectacular in Morocco, plunging 110 metres into a turquoise gorge surrounded by ancient olive groves. This magical site, home to a colony of wild Barbary macaques, offers extraordinary swimming in natural pools at the base of the falls. A hike along the river reveals rainbow mist and breathtaking views.
The Cascades
Three main falls plunge from a height of 110 metres, fed by the El-Abid river. The mist they generate creates permanent rainbows on sunny days. At the base, natural pools of turquoise water invite visitors to swim in a refreshing and magical setting.
The Barbary Macaques
Ouzoud is home to a colony of about 300 wild Barbary macaques, the only primates native to Africa north of the Sahara. These curious monkeys come close to visitors and are particularly entertaining to observe. Please do not feed them to preserve their natural diet.
The Olive Groves
The path leading to the falls winds through an ancient olive grove, some trees reputed to be over 300 years old. In spring, the landscape bursts with wildflowers. Local guides can teach you to identify the different species of plants and birds.
