About this excursion
This 3-day journey takes you to the iconic Erg Chebbi dunes near Merzouga, the most spectacular ergs of the Moroccan Sahara. Travel through the dramatic landscapes of the Middle Atlas, the Valley of Roses, and the Draa Valley before reaching the golden dunes that can rise to over 150 metres. Sleep in a luxury bivouac under a sky full of stars.
The Route South
The journey to Merzouga is as spectacular as the destination. Crossing the Tizi n'Tichka pass, the highest paved mountain pass in North Africa, you descend into pre-Saharan landscapes of kasbahs, palm groves and oases. Each stop reveals a different face of Morocco.
Life in the Bivouac
Our bivouac combines traditional Berber tents with modern comfort: real beds with mattresses, solar lighting, and private sanitary facilities. In the evening, local musicians play guembri and bendir around the fire while the stars fill an impossibly vast sky.

Marrakech → Ouarzazate
Cross the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2260m), visit Ait Benhaddou (UNESCO), arrive in Ouarzazate for the night.
Ouarzazate → Merzouga
Drive through Dades Gorge and Todra Canyon. Arrive at Merzouga, begin camel trek into the dunes at sunset. Night in the luxury bivouac.
Merzouga → Marrakech
Wake up for the dune sunrise. Breakfast at camp. Drive back via Draa Valley, arriving in Marrakech in the evening.
